Our lighted buildings and accessories are thoughtfully created using hand craftmanship and artistry every step of the way. In fact, it takes over 60 individual steps to develop each product we introduce into our villages!
Our talented team of sculpters create a three dimensional was sculpt using skilled artistry, resulting in an incredibe level of detail. The sculpt is done in several pieces, each of which have to fit together like a three dimensional puzzle.
Each piece is molded by hand, with several different molds needed for the different parts that make up a bulding or accessory. We only use each mold for a very limited number of times to maintain the highest level of architectural detail.
Each building and accessory is painted by hand according to the artists' directions.
Long life cordless lighting
This innovative new lighting feature, exclusive to select Department 56® lighted buildings, allow you to light the building without plugging it into the wall. Without the requirment of being near an electrical outlet, you have the freedom to display your lighted house anywhere in your home!
All of the Decorators sets use the cordless lighting system.
These sets will provide 20 hours of light using conventional AA batteries(batteries not included)
All sets include a timer that will automatically shut off the light after 9 hours.
These buildings can also be lighted with the traditional light cord.
