Erectors new robot, Spyke debuts this October and is sure to be hard to find for the holidays. This unique robot is controlled from a computer via a local WiFi connection or through the Internet itself. Its features include:

Spyke allows you to view what is going around it while you are away. Its built-in camera can also send you e-mails of snapshots whenever it detects a motion, and works great as a VoIP phone (compatible with MSN, Skype, Google Talk) when you want to hold a conversation.

Erector construction toys have been around since 1913 when A.C. Gilbert introduced his first erector set at the Toy Fair in New York. That very first set consisted of girders, gears and sprockets and built multiple models from one set.
Today the same principles hold true and Erector has improved upon the original design by adding flexible metal pieces to Design sets, newly shaped parts and accessories and even a radio control vehicle that operates by remote.
