40930 Railbox Steel Boxcar “Railbox” isn’t a railroad. It’s a service of the Trailer Train Company (TTX) that provides a pool of more than 10,000 boxcars to railroads across America. Sharing cars greatly reduces the need to move empty cars and greatly increases the efficiency of the railroads. Make your LGB railroad more efficient with this modern model. Opening doors. |

40933 UP 50 ft. Steel Boxcar As the largest railroad in the United States, the Union Pacific® has employed a vast number of modern 50-foot steel boxcars. Many of those cars have worn the bright Armour Yellow livery, and with this LGB model, you can capture that color on your layout. It also features authentic markings for realism and opening doors so you can put it to work hauling real loads. Estimated delivery date: Sept 2006

40960 DB Cargo Container car Modern freight traffic would be inconceivable without container cars. With them, goods can be quickly transferred from road to rail and back again. With this model, you can model Deutsche Bahn container traffic on your LGB layout. Double buffers are included for authentic use with DB 101 series locos (LGB 20310), and naturally, it's also compatible with all other LGB models. |

41040 NYC Ore Car, 4907 Like many lines, the New York Central employed these short, four-axle cars to transport heavy bulk materials. The detailed lettering on this authentic model replicates car number 4907. The detailing continues with hand wheels, steps, ladders and rails. The unloading hatches on this working model can be opened. |

41150 DR Salt Car, 99-40-91 This small car has a real prototype. It was used during the winter months to put salt onto the rails to keep them clear. Despite its short length – only 5 meters (16 ft. 5 in.) – the car was equipped with two brakemen’s platforms. Thus, the closed car body probably was only 3 m (9 ft. 10 in.) long. The car was used on the electrically operated narrow gauge railway in Klingenthal. This 1000 mm line was part of the DR. The LGB model features the authentic lettering of the car that was stationed in Klingenthal. Similar cars may have existed on other lines.

41420 Crane Car To supplement their own construction crews, railroads also employ outside track construction companies. These highly specialized contractors have their own maintenance-of-way (MOW) cars, and this crane car, of the J. Huber firm, marks the start of a series of LGB MOW cars. This versatile, working model has the functions of the original: The arm can lift, lower and rotate. Cables and tools can be stored in the tool cabinets.

LGB of America announced that it will proceed with plans to produce its own G-scale trains and accessories. LGBoA also announced that its existing inventories of LGB products are generally very good and that it is working with many long-time LGB suppliers on its production efforts.
Our constant goal is to provide consumers with the quality LGB products they want, said Tony Castellano, President of LGB of America. We purchased a tremendous amount of LGB before production ended at Lehmann. We have already announced our new USRA 0-6-0 loco, and we plan to have fresh inventory before the start of the holiday selling season.
