41615 Self Unloading Car, digital These cars, which are often used in sets of multiple units, are employed by railways to transport bulk materials, like ballast, to construction sites. This LGB model is a faithful replica of one of those Deutsche Bahn wagons, but it also has a special feature: a motorized side wall that can be opened for unloading by remote control! Load the car at the station, take it to a construction site, empty it and return it! An MTS decoder is built into the metal-wheeled car, and you can operate the mechanism on an LGB Multi-Train System layout using a Loco Remote (55016) or Universal Remote (55015). The model is also equipped with changeable buffers: dual buffers for use with the modern DB 101 series locos (20310) and single buffers for use with other locos.

42490 Searchlight Car Track construction and repair is frequently done at night, and so, cars like these are needed to provide lighting. The functional searchlight can be lifted, tilted and turned, and the crew compartment is also lighted. Power is supplied from the track through the metal wheels. An on/off switch operates the searchlight. Use it with a crane car (LGB 41420) and other, future LGB maintenance-of-way cars.

LGB of America announced that it will proceed with plans to produce its own G-scale trains and accessories. LGBoA also announced that its existing inventories of LGB products are generally very good and that it is working with many long-time LGB suppliers on its production efforts.
“Our constant goal is to provide consumers with the quality LGB products they want,” said Tony Castellano, President of LGB of America. “We purchased a tremendous amount of LGB before production ended at Lehmann. We have already announced our new ‘USRA 0-6-0’ loco, and we plan to have fresh inventory before the start of the holiday selling season.”
