LGB 24811 HSB Steam Loco, 99 7234-0

For more than 50 years, the “Neubau” (“new construction”) locomotives have been operating on the Harz narrow-gauge lines. This LGB model is different in major parts to the 1930s 99 7222-5 locos (LGB 21811/21812), including the cab and cab rear wall, water tanks, valve gear and pilot truck, as well as sand domes and buffer beams. On the Harz, both the old 99 7222-5 and the “Neubau” locomotives run side by side. Now you can showcase the differences between these fascinating locomotives on your LGB layout. The LGB model is equipped with two Bühler motors to provide tremendous pulling power. The cab is detailed, and the three lanterns light according to the direction of travel. The model is painted and lettered like the prototype, which continues to run on the HSB. Includes “DCC interface” and an advanced smoke generator with wheel-synchronized smoke puffs.

LGB 24812 HSB Steam Loco, 99 7234-0, Sound

This model is similar to LGB 24811. However, this model is equipped with an onboard MTS decoder for easy operation on both analog and MTS layouts. A highlight is the original digital sound of the Harz steam locos, including wheel-synchronized steam chuffs, cylinder sounds, bell, whistle, as well as sounds of squealing brakes and coal shoveling. These functions can be remotely triggered using the LGB Multi-Train System. It also features an advanced smoke generator with wheel-synchronized smoke puffs..

LGB 26851 CFV Mallet #413
The Chemin de Fer du Vivarais winds through the deep ravines of the Ardèche region in France’s Rhône Valley near Lyon. The tourist railway runs 33 km between Tournon and Lamaster, and it employs loco Number 413. Once known as the “The Red Mallet,” this loco has since been repainted in classic black livery, and this LGB model captures the loco in its current color. On the inside, twin Bühler motors and six powered axles provide plenty of pulling power for any LGB layout. And since it’s equipped with an “onboard” Multi-Train System decoder, this big model can do its work equally well on both traditional analog and LGB MTS layouts. Opening doors lead to a fully detailed cab. Automatic directional lighting and a working smoke generator make it an even more impressive sight!

LGB of America announced that it will proceed with plans to produce its own G-scale trains and accessories. LGBoA also announced that its existing inventories of LGB products are generally very good and that it is working with many long-time LGB suppliers on its production efforts.

“Our constant goal is to provide consumers with the quality LGB products they want,” said Tony Castellano, President of LGB of America. “We purchased a tremendous amount of LGB before production ended at Lehmann. We have already announced our new ‘USRA 0-6-0’ loco, and we plan to have fresh inventory before the start of the holiday selling season.”
