Along with the arrival of the 2-6-6-2 engine, the WMSR has also been busy re-developing their passenger operations, and today’s trains look almost nothing like they did just a few years ago. Newly restored cars wear a combination of paint schemes based on the original Western Maryland as well as additional privately-owned first-class cars adorned in paint of other lines. Travelers may now enjoy a ride up the mountain behind steam in everything from open air cars to first class lounge and dome seating. We have received dozens of requests to bring the 1309 and her consist to O scale since her restoration was first announced. The wait is finally over!
