Lionel 2527100 Pennsylvania 18" Aluminum Coach 2 Pack
For business travel between New York and Washington, there was no finer service than the Pennsylvania's Congressional and Senator trains. These trains were re-equipped with all new stainless steel equipment in Congressional and Senator trains. These trains were re-equipped with all new stainless steel equipment in 1952 offering spacious coach and lounge seating as well as full dining car service. The two trains, with two matching consists each, were very similar, with the Congressional carrying a slightly heavier consist with a twin-unit diner and extra coach/drawing room car. Leading the trains of course would be nothing other than a GG1, painted in Tuscan red to complement the gleaming steel of the cars.
The trains remained popular into the Penn Central era with much of the equipment surviving to wear Amtrak colors. These trains will be available from Lionel in our 18" Aluminum passenger cars. Separate 4 packs and StationSounds diners are available for both the Congressional and Senator in classic PRR livery. 4 packs include a lounge,two coaches and the lounge observation. Additional two-packs are available to expand the consists. A special two-pack of shadowlined heavyweight cars is alsoavailable. These cars were painted to match the stainlesssteel train and served as substitutes during repairs or as extra cars on especially busy days.
