This is a Lionel 6-34683 Pennsylvania VISION Baldwin Centipede (Single Stripe) It has a slight weathering job done by a professional. Comes in its original box but the master carton has a few torn corners and edges. There are a few scratches on the top in some areas, some are light and others are deep. A few of the railing stanchions are broken, please see photos. The two units do not couple together as one of the units is missing a rear coupler. The couplers have been changed to O scale Kadee couplers. The original O gauge couplers are in the box, but soldering is required for the electrocouplers. There is a funnel, a pipette, and two diaphragms with this engine. Also comes with its manual and engine memory modules. Both units have been tested and run great. With a little work these 2 units could be a great addition to one's collection.

The massive Baldwin “Centipede” diesel locomotive now joins the Lionel VISION Line roster.
In the mid-1940s, Baldwin Locomotive Works created a behemoth two-unit diesel prototype, the DR-12-8-1500/2, generating orders from the Pennsylvania, Union Pacific (but never received), Seaboard Air Line, and NdeM railroads. To meet the needs of the bustling Postwar economy, the units went into production starting in 1945 and continuing through the first half of 1948.
Unfortunately, the locomotives were built one by one, introducing differences in wiring and construction that would later contribute to their demise. Nonetheless, the Centipedes take their place as some of the largest diesel locomotives ever produced—and the most distinctive, with their iconic Baldwin “baby face” appearance. At over 181 feet for an A-A pair, these lengthy locomotive sets generated 6,000 horsepower.
