Train History

Special Limited Run-Legacy Lionel Extortion 17 Diesel Switcher- Never Forget

The Pennsylvania and Southern, a switching operation in and around the Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg, PA debuted #17 an EMD SW7 built in 1950 for Weyerhauser in the Pacific Northwest. It was purchased from LTEX and in 2016 was painted by railroad employees in honor of the lives lost in 2011 on Extortion 1-7 in Afghanistan.
Written on botton "Extortion 17" and "Never Forget" with 30 stars decorating the cab of PSCC 17 with 15 on each side to honor those American servicemen that perished in the 2011 Extortion 17 Chinook helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

Please remember all our fallen hero's including the 13 hero's from Aug, 2021
