At the turn of the 20th century, the railroad landscape was filled with large wheeled steam locomotives distinguished with large funnel shaped smoke stacks. First appearing in the 1870s, these 4-6-0 steam engines were some of the railroad's most favored designs until the early 1900s. Specializing in both freight and passenger use, these magnificent engines helped America expand westward while moving thousands of passengers and hauling tons of freight.

Although long gone, the spirit of these engines can be revived with this magnificent 4-6-0 freight set which features a heavy 4-6-0 die-cast metal steam engine heading up a three-car freight consist. Decorated in colorful Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe livery, the locomotive is equipped with all-metal gears, wheels and axles to ensure a lifetime of fun.
